Marta Jensen has been with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services for 24 years, beginning her career in social services with the Nevada State Division of Welfare and Supportive Services. During her 14 years with the Welfare Division, Marta was an eligibility worker, a hearings representative, eligibility system trainer, quality control specialist, child care program specialist, child care systems analyst and the program manager for the Energy Assistance Program. In 2007, she transferred to the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy where she held numerous oversight roles in Surveillance and Utilization Review, Provider Enrollment, Hearings, Medicaid Estate Recovery, Division Compliance and Program Integrity. In addition, she was appointed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as the Region IX representative for the Fraud and Abuse Technical Advisory Group (TAG) where she co-chaired a national work group on the Affordable Care Act provider enrollment and screening regulations and processes.
In 2014, Marta was promoted to Deputy Administrator of Administrative Services at the Division of Public and Behavioral Health within the HHS Department where she was responsible for executive oversight of the accounting and budget, contracts, information systems and human resources units. In late August 2015, she returned to the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy as the Medicaid Administrator.
