Renew Annually with the Access Nevada Benefits Portal

The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is required to check the eligibility of all Nevada Medicaid members each year. This is called an annual renewal. Your annual renewal may be during the month when your coverage first began. You might be automatically renewed based on information we have on file, or you could receive a renewal packet in the mail two months before your renewal date. You can check your renewal date by creating an account at the AccessNevada benefits portal.

Here is what you need to do to make sure you do not risk losing your coverage:

Update Your Address

When you are due for renewal, DWSS will send you a letter in the mail. They may ask for additional information or re-enroll you with existing information. Either way, they need your current address. If your address has changed in the last three years, you can update your contact information using the UpdateMyAddress website.

Create an Account

We recommend you create an account in the Access Nevada benefits portal to get important updates about your annual renewal. Once you create an account and login, you will be able to find when your annual renewal is due. When your annual renewal is due, you will also be able to complete & submit your annual renewal form online. (NOTE: You will only see a form if your annual renewal is due and DWSS needs more information from you).

To create an account, simply visit the Access Nevada benefits portal and follow the prompts. If you have questions, this step-by-step video tutorial may be helpful.

Complete Your Annual Renewal

Renewals usually happen one year from when you were approved for Medicaid. However, renewal dates may be different because of extensions. The best option is to find your renewal date in AccessNevada. You need a PIN to create an account. Or you can ask your doctor or pharmacist for your renewal date. They can look it up.

Around your renewal date, you will either be automatically renewed using  information on file, or you will get a renewal packet in the mail. If the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services needs more information to see if you still qualify for healthcare coverage, you will get a form in the mail. It will also be loaded to your Access Nevada benefit portal in AccessNevada. You will need to complete, sign, and submit this form by the deadline in your letter so you do not risk losing your healthcare coverage. Here are all of the ways you can submit your annual renewal:

  • ONLINE: Create an account for the Access Nevada benefits portal to see when your renewal is due and, once it is available, complete and submit your form online. You can also upload a copy of your completed and signed annual renewal form to DWSS.
  • E-MAIL: Return your completed and signed form to RenewMyMedicaid@dwss.nv.gov.
  • IN PERSON: Visit your local DWSS Resource Center to return your annual renewal or to get help with completing your form.
  • BY PHONE: Call 702-486-1646 (South) or 775-684-7200 (North) and after you select your language, select Option 3 (other); Option 2 (Medicaid Programs); Option 4 (Representative) to complete your annual renewal by phone.
  • BY MAIL: Return your completed and signed form to the address shown on the letter.
