The Office of Health Information Technology (OHIT) is responsible for the adoption and promotion of health information technology (HIT) to improve health care quality, increase patient safety, reduce health care costs, and enable individuals and communities to make the best possible health decisions. Across the nation, HIT is emerging as a powerful strategy to transform the health care system and improve the health of communities.

    Health Information Exchange (HIE) Regulation

    The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is in the final stages of enacting the revisions to the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), giving the DHHS regulatory authority over the Health Information Exchange (HIE) systems operating in the state.

      HIE Regulation Public Hearing Announcement

      NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services will hold a public hearing to act upon a proposed HIE Regulation. The hearing will be conducted on site in Carson City and video conference in Las Vegas beginning at 10:00 AM on April 13, 2017. Please see the agenda for details.
