Behavioral Health Services

Welcome to the Nevada Medicaid Behavioral Health Services (BHS) webpage. The Behavioral Health Benefits Coverage Unit oversees policies for rehabilitative mental health, substance use prevention and treatment, Certified Community Behavioral health Centers (CCBHCs), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Targeted Case Management, inpatient hospital psychiatric services, as well as Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs). Policies are located within the Medicaid Service Manual (MSM) Chapters listed under the "Regulatory" heading on the right-hand side of this screen.

Enrollment for new behavioral health and substance abuse and treatment providers is provided through Nevada Medicaid's QIO-like vendor.
In addition, Nevada Medicaid’s fiscal agent processes all Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) provider claims and prior authorization requests. All MSM Chapter changes and/or updates are provided on the Nevada Medicaid Website under the Provider Tab. Then click Announcements.
