Free benefits from your health plan
Your health plan may have free benefits. We call them Value-Added Benefits. They cover things like High School Equivalency classes, child care, cell phones, gym memberships, gift cards and more. These benefits help members save money and reduce medical costs. You can compare the Value Added Benefits from each health plan. If you see benefit you want on a different plan, you can switch plans during Open Enrollment. Look for a letter in the mail with instructions beginning in July. Make sure your address is up to date, so that you get the letter.
Protect your EBT & SNAP benefits
SNAP benefit theft is on the rise in Nevada. Take these steps to protect yourself: • Download the EBT EDGE app, it’s the only one you should use. • Lock your EBT card when you aren’t using it • Change your PIN before your monthly benefits are deposited on the card. • Don’t use easy PINs like 1234 or your birthday. • Don't share your PIN with anyone. • Check your account to see if anyone has used your card. For help with these security measures, write to IRReferral@dwss.nv.gov. If someone does use your card, report it here.

- “I had Medicaid as a child growing up but never knew the amount of help that it had provided for my family of 12. Then, when was 18, I started my own job and I was able to pay for my own insurance through my employer. At 25 COVID hit our city hard and myself as well as many others lost jobs. I found myself needing government assistance. Medicaid was very helpful in my times of need for visits, medications and more. Thank you for helping me while I pick up the pieces and put my life back together.”
