Committee Background

The Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) advises the State Medicaid Director on policy development and Medicaid program administration. It includes stakeholders like Medicaid staff, providers, managed care plans, patient advocates, and Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) members who share lived experience. To address health-related social needs, the committee also includes representatives from DHHS sister agencies. Bylaws for the Medicaid Advisory Committee can be viewed here. The MAC is managed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) as outlined in Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 422.151 to 422.155 and is being updated during the 83rd (2025) legislative session to comply with updates made to CFR 431.12
